Why is it called Koine?

Koine (koinē) was the common Greek dialect that connected the ancient Mediterranean, the shared language that let different peoples trade, learn, and build together. We chose it deliberately. That is exactly what we set out to do: give a set of distinct companies a common language of values, standards, and support, and invest in where each of them is going, without forcing them to become the same.
